Regular visits to a hygienist can help prevent gum disease which if left undiagnosed/treated can cause gum recession, bone loss from around the teeth and even the loss of teeth.
The role of a dental hygienist is to professionally clean your teeth so that your teeth are free of tartar, your gums are healthy and your breath is fresh. They also play a key role in the prevention, treatment and maintenance of periodontal disease.
They are the best placed dental care professional to help advise you on a home oral hygiene regime that will aid you to look after your teeth effectively. They can identify problem areas, suggest how to improve them, review and ensure these areas improve. They can educate you on the range of interdental cleaning devices available and which ones you should be using.
At Rendlesham Dental Practice we also have dental hygiene therapists. These are dental care professionals who do all of the above but who can also perform permanent dental fillings.
Both our hygienists and dental therapists can be seen through direct access. This means even if you are not registered with us you can see them directly on a private basis without having seen a dentist first. Perfect for that special occasion where you want your teeth clean and bright but don’t need to see a dentist.
Our Practice is easily accessible and has ample free parking.
