Open Period Guidelines

We’re pleased to offer a special open period for children at our dental practice. Please read the following information carefully so you know what to expect.

Who can come?

Children under 18 years old.

Children who are 18 but still in full-time education (you may be asked for proof).

What is included?

Each child will have a one-off dental check-up.

If treatment is needed (for example, fillings or extractions), we will complete the full course of treatment.

Once treatment is finished, your child will not automatically be offered future routine check-ups at our practice.

Future visits

We aim to run an open period often throughout the year, but this depends on capacity.

Spaces are limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

If your child attends one open period, there is no guarantee they will be seen at the next one.

Current patients

If your child is already registered with us under the NHS, with parents/guardians registered under private care/Practice Plan, you can continue to book their routine check-ups in the usual way. They do not need to attend the open period.

On the day

A parent or legal guardian must attend with their child.

Please bring any medical information we might need (for example, a list of medicines).

If you cannot attend, please let us know so we can offer the space to another family.

Fair access

We welcome all children and will not discriminate for any reason.
